A paradigm shift to teach doctors and engineers how to face new health and technology challenges

A paradigm shift to teach doctors and engineers how to face new health and technology challenges

Traditional teaching methodology is undergoing a pedagogical shift towards a simulation-based learning model. Experiential learning, guided practice and immediate feedback are the main advantages of simulation.

Simulation is therefore the cornerstone of teaching: effectively the Simulation Center is an effective tool for developing new skills, identifying knowledge gaps, reducing errors and practicing clinical practices rarely used even among experienced clinical teams. The overall goal is improving patient care, testing new products, training medical and engineering students in new skills and methodologies. A place for experimentation, prototype
tests and showrooms for partner companies.

SIMULATION CENTER GOALS:

  • experimentation with different techniques and methodologies;
  • interactive teaching integration aimed at improving students’ preparation, using technological tools and group work;
  • safety for operators and for the patient;
  • a “gym” that extends learning by allowing dynamic exploration of new ideas, training in zero-risk or controlled risk conditions;
  • highly specialized training courses. The center has technological tools that allow the training of different techniques in realistic settings;
  • innovative experimentation aimed at developing new techniques and technologies that can be prototyped and tested in the center itself;
  • experiences of interdisciplinary teamwork. Training, simulation, debriefing aimed at: managers, companies, industries
  • social impact courses dedicated to professionals from public institutions and private companies;
  • measurable performance analysis.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • Approximately 450 square meters
  • 6 Simulation rooms
  • 2 Debriefing rooms
  • Technical control room
