The meeting of the International Advisory Board took place at the Campus Bio-Medico in Rome

An opportunity for collaboration and shared vision has arisen to achieve the next objectives of the UCBM of Rome and the “Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico.”

On Friday, April 12, 2024, the meeting of the International Advisory Board took place at the Campus Bio-Medico in Rome. Alessandro Pernigo, President of the Biomedical University Foundation, and Laura Picalarga, Secretary General, warmly welcomed the attendees. Erik Dyson, a fundraiser for the Biomedical Foundation US, and Thomas Cox, CEO of the OnPoint Group, were also in attendance, having traveled from the United States with their spouses.

The day commenced with a meeting with the esteemed Rector, Eng. Eugenio Guglielmelli, along with the Chief Executive Officer and General Director of the UCBM, Andrea Rossi. They presented the university’s development projects across both educational and research fields.

 

Successivamente, con il supporto del Prof. Leandro Pecchia, Professore di Ingegneria Biomedica, è stata organizzata una visita ai laboratori di ingegneria e medicina,  offrendo l’opportunità di esplorare le frontiere della ricerca scientifica in ambito medico, ingegneristico e della biologia alimentare, con una forte propensione all’innovazione tecnologica che caratterizza il Campus Bio-Medico di Roma.

Subsequently, with the guidance of Prof. Leandro Pecchia, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, a visit to the engineering and medical laboratories was arranged. This provided an opportunity to explore the cutting-edge scientific research at the intersection of medicine, engineering, and food biology, highlighting the technological innovation that characterizes the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome.

Afterward, a meeting took place with Paolo Sormani, Chief Executive Officer and General Director of the “Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico,” to highlight the synergistic collaboration between the University and the Polyclinic, as well as the future Clinical Research Center.

During lunch, attendees had the opportunity to meet some of the international students, gaining a deeper understanding of the impact the Campus Bio-Medico has on the lives and education of young people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Durante il pranzo è stato possibile conoscere alcuni degli studenti internazionali offrendo l’opportunità di comprendere appieno l’impatto del Campus Bio-Medico sulla vita e la formazione di giovani provenienti da culture e contesti diversi.

Finally, the meeting of the members of the International Advisory Board took place. In attendance were Alessandro Pernigo, Laura Picalarga, and Paolo Arullani, alongside Marco Sala, Giovanni Castellaneta, Federica Marchini, Greg Baracchi, Erik Dyson, and Thomas Cox. The aim was to foster an increasingly collaborative and shared vision to achieve the next objectives of the UCBM.
